Helicopter Pre-Purchase Inspection
Don't buy a helicopter without one. Independent PPI by an FAA Part 145 Repair Station and DME.
Independent PPI
A Few Hours Now Beats a Six-Figure Surprise
A used helicopter looks great on the ramp. The story in the logbooks, the AD list, the time on dynamic components, and the test flight is what tells you whether you're about to buy an asset or a liability. Our pre-purchase inspection finds out — before the wire transfer.
We are an FAA Part 145 Repair Station and our owner is an FAA Designated Mechanic Examiner. We work on Robinsons every day in our own shop. We have no financial interest in whether you buy the aircraft — only in giving you an honest, complete picture of what you're getting.
Four-Stage Inspection Process
- 1
Records & Logbook Review
Complete review of airframe, engine, and component logbooks. AD compliance, STC verification, damage history, and time-tracking on life-limited components.
- 2
Visual & Structural Inspection
Airframe, tail boom, rotor systems, drive train, engine compartment, and avionics bays opened and inspected against Robinson maintenance manuals.
- 3
Operational & Test Flight
Ground runs, hover checks, autorotation entry, hydraulic check, governor, and full-flight performance verification by our Commercial Helicopter Pilot chief pilot.
- 4
Findings Report
Written report with photos, AD/squawk list, estimated cost-to-comply, and our independent recommendation: buy, negotiate, or walk away.
Aircraft We Inspect
Robinson R22, R44, R66; Bell 47; and most light piston helicopters. Travel inspections available across Texas and the surrounding region.
Turnaround Time
Most pre-buys complete in 2–4 shop days, plus travel and test-flight scheduling. Rush slots available.
Defect Resolution
If we find issues, our Part 145 shop can quote and perform the repairs — or you can take the report anywhere you choose.
Truly Independent
We perform PPIs whether or not we're brokering the deal. Our only job is to tell you what's actually in the aircraft.
Schedule a Pre-Purchase Inspection
Tell us about the aircraft — we'll quote the inspection and timeline.
